House Leaders
Milgate Primary School has four houses, named after artists - Roberts, McCubbin, Streeton and Boyd.
The House Leaders and Deputy Leaders are elected by the Level 4 members of the House they belong to. There are two House Leaders and two Deputies per house. Before elections, students are encouraged to reflect on the leadership qualities the position requires and vote accordingly. The candidates are required to make two speeches to their peers in each House before a selection is made.
They have many and varied responsibilities and represent the school in special events such as a Community ANZAC Service, and this year House Leaders have attended a School Council Meeting during which they shared views on Leadership roles. Their roles include organising the members of their house at School Sports, managing the Sports Storeroom at lunchtimes, managing Recycling, leading school tours, helping with Prep Transition and conducting whole school Assemblies.
